Three Weeks

My brother, Michael, his wife Liz, and their daughter Gabby, have been in Dallas (visiting from Hawaii) for three weeks. They leave tomorrow morning at 10 am. At the outset I was skeptical about how they would fill three weeks of their time. But we filled it. We've had family dinners, movie nights, hanging out time, and we've celebrated and mourned.

Michael hit the 45-year milestone on July 5th; my grandmother passed away on July 9th; my younger brother Brandon turned the ripe old age of 35 on July 12th; my daughter, Ariel, celebrated turning 17 on July 18; and on July 21st my dad celebrated 70 with the quip that he likes birthdays - the more you have the longer you live. We celebrated the latter with a big gathering of family and friends on July 17.

It's amazing how much living we packed into three short weeks. I'll post photos soon.
